Advantage Linen Inc. began operations in December 1996 in Lexington, Kentucky. The key managing principle behind our company’s origin and continued success is the simple philosophy of:

This guiding principle seems obvious and logical, but the current business climate has moved farther and farther away from this way of thinking. Companies are more concerned with telling the customer what they can offer, instead of taking the time to find out what the customers really want and need. Advantage Linen is dedicated to providing the highest quality service at an affordable price. We are interested in developing a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship, with each of our customers.
OUR PEOPLE
Advantage Linen Inc. has developed a wide range of staff that are experienced in all aspects of the linen industry. We have over 75 years of direct experience in the linen industry. Our personnel are trained in the latest detergent and chemical technology essential to providing safe and effective cleaning within OSHA guidelines. In addition, Advantage Linen has more than 20 years of retail management experience and over 25 years of food service experience. Many of our staff were recommended by our customers. Each of our staff is trained from the ground up, giving them an understanding of all aspects of our business. Each staff member must go through a one month plant training regimen that takes him through linen evaluation, washing, processing, and packing before he begins delivery or customer interaction. In addition, each of our staff members must complete a corporate quality assurance program that outlines inventory, production, and safety standards for our business.
OUR CUSTOMERS
As mentioned previously, we take pride in understanding our customer’s needs and goals. We want to develop the kinds of relationships that are lasting and dependable. We try to help our clients improve the quality and appearance of their linen, while maintaining their profitability.
For example, we have many restaurants that have open kitchens. These kitchens enable the public to see their food being prepared. A major cost issue for these types of restaurants is how to keep their staff looking as clean as possible while performing food preparation. Many restaurants were having their employee’s change their white chef coats two and three times per shift. We suggested changing the color of their chef coats to black. As a result, their cleaning requirements dropped over 50 percent. Advantage Linen lost the extra income from washing those white chef coats, but helped customers solve a problem and save money. Therefore, it was a success. Our success is your success.
In another example, we were contacted by a medical clinic that was not satisfied with their current linen provider. They were certain that they were not receiving all the linen they had turned in for cleaning. Furthermore, they were getting sheets that were not theirs. We solved this issue first by ordering the quality of inventory they desired, and having their clinic’s name stenciled along the side of each sheet. We then performed a monthly inventory accounting for all linen items including those, which were damaged or no longer usable. These actions solved the clinic’s linen problems and saved them money.
Finally, because of our relationships with linen manufacturers, we have been able to order a specific size, shape or color of linen impossible for a local customer to obtain. In that way, the customer is able to purchase the specific linen item his/her business desires, and at a reduced cost.
INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE
In September 2008, Advantage Linen Inc. invested in the most technologically advanced laundry equipment available in the United States. We have positioned ourselves in the forefront of the industry by purchasing an ELLIS 360 TUNNEL WASHING SYSTEM. This system is the sixth of its kind installed in the United States and is the only certified GREEN washing system in the world. Because of individualization of each compartment and the 360 degree mechanical action of the Ellis Tunnel, the machine uses only 0.7 gallon of water/ pound of linen processed. This compares favorably to a conventional tunnel system which uses 1.5 gallon/pound of linen processed, or a conventional washer (used by 90% of the laundry industry), which uses 3.0 gallons/pound of linen, processed. As a result, we heat less water, use less natural gas energy, and discharge less used water back into the environment. Our goal is simple: Advantage Linen Inc. wants to offer the best service and products available while staying on the cutting edge of technology and savings. During the past year, we have more than doubled our washing capacity, while reducing our energy consumption. This decreased energy consumption has reduced the cost of cleaning and has been passed back to our customers as a saving.

Advantage Linen is conveniently located on the corner of New Circle Road and Old Frankfort Pike, providing us easy access to all of Lexington within fifteen minutes. Furthermore, this location gives us direct access to downtown Lexington, Versailles, Frankfort, Louisville, and Northern Kentucky.
